چکیده

Characteristics of electromagnetic wave propagation through a magnetized plasma slab with linear electron density profile is analysed. In the numerical analysis, cold, weakly ionized, collisional and steady state plasma layer is divided into sufficiently thin, adjacent subslabs, in each of which plasma parameters are constant. Reflection and transmission coefficients are calculated for discretised plasma by considering electron density profile with positive and negative slopes. Wideband absorbtion characteristic is obtained with high collision frequency and high electron density combination in linearly decreasing profile as well as wideband transmission characteristic is obtained for low collision frequency and low electron density combination in linearly increasing profile of finite length. The general results show that in steady state, plasma layer behaves as a frequency selective medium satisfying the major requirements of current shielding applications as the function of plasma parameters and the strength of external magnetic field excitation. Proposed plasma layer can be used in current shielding and stealth applications as a matching layer between the surface and the incident electromagnetic wave. Corresponding author: Ç. S. Analysis of Propagation and Polarization Characteristics of Electromagnetic Waves through Nonuniform Magnetized Plasma Slab Using Propagator Matrix Method

An analytical technique referred to as the propagator matrix method (PMM) is presented to study the problem of electromagnetic (EM) waves interacting with the nonuniform magnetized plasma. In this method, the state vector is proposed to describe the characteristics of eigen waves in anisotropic medium, and state vectors at two different locations are related with each other by the propagator ma...

Transparency of overdense plasma with V shape density profile

In this study, we investigate the transparency of an overdense inhomogeneous plasma slab. This anomalous transmission is achieved when the conditions provided for the incident electromagnetic wave to excite coupled surface waves on the both sides of the slab. These conditions require that the homogeneous overdense plasma, or the metallic film, is placed between two dielectric layers. Here, the ...

One of the interesting Laser-Plasma phenomena, when the laser power is high and ultra intense, is the generation of large amplitude plasma waves (Wakefield) and electron acceleration. An intense electromagnetic laser pulse can create plasma oscillations through the action of the nonlinear pondermotive force. electrons trapped in the wake can be accelerated to high energies, more than 1 TW.
